Worship Arts Ministries
The Worship Arts Ministries at Valley Shepherd exist to foster God-given talents and abilities in the arts through the facilitation of congregational worship in action and adoration.
The VSN Choir leads in worship and provides inspirational music in our Morning Worship Service and at special events throughout the year. Anyone 15 years and older, who loves to sing and has a desire to help lead our congregation in worship, is welcome in the choir. Our main rehearsal time is Wednesday night, 6:45–8:00 p.m. We also meet on Sunday mornings at 9:15 a.m. to rehearse with the orchestra and 10:30 a.m. prior to service.
The VSN Orchestra accompanies worship weekly in our 10:45 a.m. service. We welcome individuals who love to play and want to use their talent for the Lord. The orchestra is asked to learn and perform music pieces in a rather short time frame and thus experience is recommended. We meet each Sunday morning, 8:30 a.m., to rehearse for the worship service. We also meet once a month on Saturday mornings to work on pieces for our services.
Tech Arts Team
The Tech Arts Team is a vital part of what takes place every Sunday morning at Valley Shepherd. God has blessed us with some wonderful sound, lighting and video equipment with which to reinforce our worship and give us the ability to take the ministry of VSN around the world via the internet. Opportunities are available to those 14 years of age and older to work on the sound board, video camera, video mixer, computer media, and the lighting board. Training and support are given for all areas of the Tech Arts Ministry.
The Handbell Choir meets on Sunday afternoons, 4:00-5:30 p.m. We prepare pieces for our worship services and special events. Anyone 10 years of age or older can participate in the Handbell Choir.
Worship Team Vocalists
Worship Team Vocalists help lead our congregation in worship. They also sing special music on occasion. Practice for Worship Teams is held with the orchestra on Sunday mornings at 8:30a.m.
Valley Shepherd has a long history of utilizing drama to enhance Christmas and Easter Presentations. If you are interested in participating in the ongoing ministry, please contact Pastor Stephen.
Fine Arts Ministry
Do you have a talent in painting, drawing, sculpture, graphic design, or other areas of Fine Art? We love to encourage artists to use their talent for the Lord and inspire our congregation in worship. There are numerous ways to get involved from designing print and online communications to artistic pieces on display throughout the year.
More Than Just Music
Members of the worship arts department have ministered in and to our community through worship services in the state prison, the military chapel, and in retirement centers and care facilities. We have also participated in the Meridian Lights Parade. We are always looking for other opportunities to minister in our community.
